I loved my Uncle Joe... there wasn't a time that he didn't have gum, a huge smile and hug for me every time he came over to Ma's house. He also did the traditional Italian "cheek squeeze" - which hurt like heck! - but I never would have known it without him, 'cause no one else in my life has ever done it... how cool is that?!! Altho' I moved away in '91 when I returned home we made time to visit and our time together last year was very warm, loving and gracious. Much Love to everyone back home... I miss you all, and never forget that you're always with me and I think of you often. Now somebody pass the Peppers!!! :D

I remember uncle Joe coming over to Ma's house to eat polenta and sugo. I was probably only about 7 or 8 years old at the time. Before dinner Joe would play with me. He would pretend he was a dog and chase me around the dining room table on his hands and knees. He was so fast! When he caught me he would fake bite me and snarl. All the while laughing and tickling and kissing me at the same time. I'll always remember how fun this was and how much I loved him. Soon after our play Ma would call us to dinner. We all know how filling polenta is. I would eat a small plate, but uncle Joe polished off at least 2 full dishes. I was always amazed at how much he ate. We'll all miss you uncle Joe.
