Loving wife, step-mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend

Amanda “Mandie” Hendrix, 56, Loves Park, went home to be with her Lord on Saturday, June 25, 2016, in her home after a long battle with cancer. Mandie was born March 26, 1960, in Rockford, the daughter of Carl “Andy” Anderson and Mary (Johnson) Anderson-Hendershot. She married Dennis “Denny” Hendrix in their back yard on September 7, 2013. Mandie was a legal secretary at Smith Amundsen Law offices where she enjoyed the team and said that “it was the best place she ever worked”. Her kind, bubbly, and gentle spirit touched many lives. The family extends a special thank you to Heartland Hospice for their compassionate care in Mandie’s final weeks.
Survived by her husband Denny, who took care of her for many months; her step-sons, Nick (Adele) Hendrix and Alex (Jodi) Hendrix; her mother, Mary Anderson-Hendershot; her brothers, Bart (Karen) Anderson and their family and Paul (Betty McGuire) Anderson and their family; her niece, Chelsea (Jeff) Erickson, and her nephew, Brett Anderson. Predeceased by her father, Carl “Andy” Anderson.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 4:00 P.M., Sunday, July 10, 2016, at Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd. Rockford with Reverend Joe Millitello, Chaplain at Heartland Hospice officiating.. Memorial visitation will be from 2:00 P.M. until time of service on Sunday at the funeral home.
