Ava M. Beck

Ava M. Beck, 8, of Winnebago, gracefully lost her battle with Osteosarcoma on Wednesday, November 14, 2018, after being diagnosed in June. Ava was surrounded by her loving family, who were by her side, every step of her journey. Ava was born on December 17, 2009, in Rockford, the daughter of Nicole Macias and Josh Beck. Ava was a third grader at Pecatonica Elementary School. Ava will be remembered by her many friends and classmates as being an awesome friend. Ava was a free spirit and had a smile that would light up any room. Ava loved basketball and horses. She enjoyed listening to music and being outdoors.
Ava was loved and will be missed by many family and friends, including her parents, Nicole (Kyle Shelly) Macias and Josh Beck; sister, Alexia Beck; brother, Ashton Shelly; grandparents, Mark and Kathleen Macias, Ann Macias, Stacey Reedy and John and Theresa Beck; aunts and uncles, Richard and Kinzie Macias, Nicholas and Paulina Caronna and Daniel and Tina Beck; numerous cousins including, Elyce, Reece, Raeyln, James and Kaine. Ava was a proud mother to her cats, Sosa, Rocko, Leonardo and Ivy Rose, to her dogs, Athena, Dexter and Kodie and her goats, Gucci and Cookie. Ava is predeceased by her great-grandparents, Bernie Kudzma, Beverly Macias and Margaret and Marlin Beck.
Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at Crossroads Community Church, 1668 Crossroads Ln N, Freeport. Visitation will be Monday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Crossroads Community Church. Burial in Chapel Hill Cemetery, Freeport, following the funeral service on Tuesday.
