Bertil H. Bert Hoglind, 74, died Thursday, August 7, 2008, in Loyalton of Rockford. He was born January 25, 1934, in Rockford, the son of Hugo and Albina (Nelson) Hoglind. Married Cricelda Rios on October 22, 1976. Bert retired from Area Rigging and was a veteran of the Air Force serving during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of St. Rita Catholic Church, the LLL Club, Loyal Order of the Moose in Belvidere, and American Legion Robert Carlson Post 1207 where he was a Past Commander. Bert enjoyed fishing and loved to spend time with his family and friends. Survived by his wife, Chris; children, Michael (Rachel) Hoglind of Houghton, LA, Steven (Darlene) Hoglind of Covington, LA, Scott (Cheri) Hoglind of Huma, LA, Robert Segura of Minneapolis, MN, Tory Segura of Rockford, IL, Lou (Jessica) Rios of Rockford, and Tonya (Tony) Record of Jacksonville, FL; 14 grandchildren, a great grandson; special nephew and niece, Rudy and Laura Ortiz. Special thanks to Msgr. Gerald P. Kobbeman, the staff at Loyalton, Heartland Hospice, and Comfort Keepers for their kind and compassionate care. Funeral Mass at 10:00am, Tuesday, August 12, 2008, in St, Rita Catholic Church, 6254 Valley Knoll Dr. Rockford, IL 61109 with Rev. Msgr. Gerald P. Kobbeman officiating. Burial in Scandinavian Cemetery with full Military Honors. Visitation from 9am until time of service Tuesday at the church.
