Charles A. Davis, 82, Rockford, died at 5:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 15, 2012 in Emeritus at Rockford.
Born September 13, 1929 in Effingham, IL, son of Virgil H. and Dorothy E. (Bailey) Davis.
Graduated from East High School in 1948 and was a Veteran of the U.S. Air Force.
Married Marlene Johnson on November 20, 1953.
Founder and vice president of Hudapack Metal Treating.
Attended Heartland Community Church and was a volunteer at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center for several years. Charles enjoyed all sports, especially playing a lot of golf in later years.
He enjoyed fishing in Canada and was very active in fast pitch softball in his younger years, having played on several excellent local teams. Loved to travel and vacation in Aruba. He was a good grandfather who loved and enjoyed his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Marlene; children, Lori (Mark) Udell, Wytheville, VA, Steven (Sandy) Davis, Caledonia and Greg (Pam) Davis, Rockford; grandchildren, Andy (Liz) Udell, Karla (Joshua) Yates, Bryce Davis, Marissa (Matt) Nyberg, Kristin and Joe Davis; greatgrandson, Jaxon Yates; brother, Raymond (Liz) Davis; several nieces, nephews and numerous friends.
Predeceased
by his parents, sister, Virginia Arnold and brother Noble Davis.

A private celebration of Charless life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Rockford Rescue Mission, 715 W. State St., Rockford, IL 61102 or to the charity of donors choice. The family was assisted by Fitzgerald Funeral Home amp; Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd.
