Charles "Charlie" J. Rayman

Charles “Charlie” J. Rayman, 84, of Rockford passed away Saturday, January 13, 2018 at Presence St. Anne Center. Born April 16, 1933, in Dundalk, Maryland, the son of Jesse and Geraldine (Rytina) Rayman. Charlie attended the University of Maryland, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in Journalism. He was a sports reporter, starting his career for the Baltimore Sun and writing later for the Rockford Register Star, retiring in 1998. Charlie married Lucy Lonegro on November 2, 1968 in Baltimore. He was an avid baseball fan and was involved in 5 fantasy baseball leagues. He was a music lover and record collector. Charlie was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church.
Survived by his wife, Lucy; children, Kevin Rayman and Melinda Rayman and siblings, Milton Rayman and Patsy Jones. Predeceased by his parents.
Funeral mass will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, 17, 2018 at Holy Family Catholic Church. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. Burial in Scandinavian Cemetery.
