Charles Joseph Featherston of Rockford passed away Thursday March 1, 2012 in OSF St. Anthony Medical Center. He was born September 14, 1928 in Des Plaines. Son of Charles and Clellah Featherston. He married Lillie Cadarian in Rockford on May 21, 1994. His first wife Joyce Gibbons predeceased him in 1992.Charles worked for many years at Greenlee Brothers. He was a member of St. Patrick'¢s Church and was a 4th degree member of The Knights of Columbus, Muldoon Council 470. He was active in the church and in the community. He was a Eucharistic Minister, Member of the School Board Church Council, served as President of the Holy Name Society, sang in the choir, called bingo and was a kitchen volunteerall at church. He enjoyed bowling, baseball and shooting pool. Charles was a big fan of both the Cubs and the Bears. Survivors include his wife Lillie, Children, Joyce (Dick) Nelson of Freeport, Charlotte (Clifton) Files of Loves Park, Diane (Norm) Arand of Rockford, Susan (Tom) Anderson of Machesney Park, Michael (Connie) Featherston of Coon Rapids, Minnesota, Connie (Gary) Lask of Rockford, Tamara (Martin) McDonald of Rockford, Teresa (James) Desantis of Clarkston, Michigan. Step Children, John (Barbara) Cadarian of Akron, Ohio, Bob (Donna) Cadarian of Caledonia and Nancy Cadarian of Union. 21 Grandchildren and 24 Great grandchildren. Sisters, Joanne (Jerry) Bates of Florida, Darlene Wick of Lincoln. Brother Paul (Ginger) Featherston of AZ and Bill Featherston of Rockford. Predeceased by his first wife Joyce, Son Charles, Grandchildren, Sarah Lask, Staci Cadarian, Hope Anderegg and Bradley Dixon, Sister, Rosalie Hewett, Brother, Robert Featherston.Visitation will be Sunday, March 4th from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, 1860 S. Mulford Road, Rockford, IL Visitation also prior to mass Monday at church 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. Funeral mass at 11am Monday March 5, 2012 in St. Patrick'¢s Church. Entombment in Calvary Cemetery.
