Christine "Chrissy" A. Carlson October 13, 1970 — November 11, 2017

Christine A. “Chrissy” Carlson, 47, of Rockford, Illinois, died November 11, 2017 unexpectedly. Chrissy was born October 13, 1970 in Rockford, the daughter of Patricia Goldstein and the late Richard Carlson. Chrissy lived most of life in Rockford and also lived in California as a teenager. She received her GED from Jefferson High School in Rockford and went on to receive her CNA degree and she was also a licensed beautician. In addition to nursing and beauty, she had a variety of professions including real estate acquisitions and carpentry, also worked in the entertainment field, and worked as a waitress for many years. She was a big fan of the Rockford IceHogs hockey team and her favorite band was Green Day. She was previously married to Greg Simms.

She is survived by her grandchild, Elijah; children, Alexis Carlson, D’Mitri Bunger and Corporal Devan Carlson and his wife, Emma; two sisters, Cathy Carlson and Cindy Carlson; mother, Patricia Carlson; and many family and friends. She is preceded in death by her father, Richard Carlson; maternal grandparents, Nate and Gladys Goldstein; paternal grandfather, Wilmer “Bill” Carlson; and numerous cousins, aunts and uncles.

Chrissy’s funeral arrangements are in care of Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Road, Rockford, IL 61108. Family and friends are invited to services on Monday, November 20, 2017, 11:30 am, with visitation beginning at 9:00 am prior to funeral, at Fitzgerald Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be given to the family.
