Concetta Piazza

Concetta Piazza, 90, Rockford, passed away Monday, January, 2,2012 at SwedishAmerican Hospital. Born April 11, 1921 in Sambuca Sicily; the daughter of Pietro and Diega Santoro. Concetta married the former Liberio Piazza in Burgio, Sicily on January 22, 1938. She lived in Rockford for the past 25 years. Concetta was a caregiver every day of her life; she helped raise all of her grandchildren and greatgrandchildren following them around with a spoon making sure they had enough to eat. She was always worrying and thinking about others before herself. She was amazing. After 24 years she reunites with her husband of 50 years. She will be missed by all who loved her and will never be forgotten. Member of St. Rita Catholic Church.Survived by daughters, Anna (Antonio) Radosta, of Rockford and Dina (Tomasso) Perricone of Abbiategrasso, Italy; grandchildren, Anna (Robert) Lawlor, Gina (Tony) Caruana, Carmelina (Davide) and GianCarlo Perricone; greatgrandchildren, Robbie Lawlor, Olivia Lawlor, Victoria Lawlor, Abriella Caruana, Alessia Caruana, Carlo Caruana, all of Rockford; Marco and Mattia of Italy. Predeceased by husband, Liberio in 1988. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, January 6, 2012 at St. Rita Catholic Church 6254 Valley Knoll Dr. Visitation from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Mass at the church. Entombment in Abbiategrasso, Italy.
