Cynthia K. ""Cindy"" Gentry, 56, of Rockford died on Friday May 11, 2007 at Swedish American Hospital. Born June 25, 1950, in Decatur, the daughter of Jack A. Gentry and Patricia Osborne Gentry. Cindy taught at many Rockford schools. She became Principal at White Swan Elementary School and later served as Principal of Bloom Elementary School for 8 years. She was a graduate of SIU receiving her BA in Elementary Education, and received her Master of Science in Education from NIU. Cindy was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma, Phi Delta Kappa, Rockford Principal & Supervisors Association and had been nominated for the ""Those Who Excel"" award. Cindys motto ""Kids Always Came First."" Survivors include her father Jack A. Gentry, sister Linda Gentry, Decatur, brothers Scott Gentry, New Berlin, Mark (Paula) Gentry, Avon, and Tim (Diane) Gentry, Decatur, nieces and nephews Donald ""Jamie"" (Angie) Davies, David Sutton, Jessica (Tim) Niebrugge, Natalie (Gavin) Brookins, Phillip Gentry, Kyle and Cameron Gentry, great nieces and nephews Zachary and Ashlynn Davies, Jacob and Eden Niebrugge, and Pierce Brookins, many aunts, uncles and cousins, and her many Rockford family and friends. Predeceased by her mother, Patricia. A Memorial Gathering will be held from 4:00-7:00 PM. on Wednesday, May 16, 2007, at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S.
