Darrell L. Cowan

Darrell Lee “Scott” Cowan, 82, of Rockford, passed away Saturday, March 14, 2015, in his home with his loving family at his side. Born February 2, 1933, in Orfordville, Wisconsin, the son of John and Pearl (Grenawalt) Cowan. Darrell was a veteran serving in the United States Air Force as an Aircraft Mechanic from 1952 until 1960. For the first 4 years of his service, he was stationed in England at Burtonwood Air Force Base, where he met his wife, June Bagot. They were married in England in 1955. Darrell worked for Sundstrand for many years, retiring as a Maintenance Supervisor. He loved the challenge of fixing anything. Darrell enjoyed being outdoors, especially hunting and gardening. Most of all, it was important to him to stay connected with his family.

Survived by his loving wife, June; daughters, Carol (Steve Pumilia) Moyer and Kimberly (Michael) Burlington; grandchildren, Timothy (Kelley) Moyer, Jennifer Moyer, Whitney Burlington, Nicole (Luke) Burlington Jones, Kristen Burlington and Ian MacLean; numerous great-grandchildren. Predeceased by his parents and siblings.

Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 21, 2015 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Road.
