David Olen Wafford

David Olen Wafford, 52, joined his parents in heaven on July 16, 2011 in Rockford, IL. Born August 14, 1958 in West Covina, CA, the son of D.J. and Betty Wafford. A natural born leader, Dave was a source of inspiration for many. His presence was felt from his words of encouragement and dinner time coaching with his sons, providing exceptional leadership and accountability to his employees and colleagues. Dave was employed by Frito Lay for 17 years as a District Sales Leader. He actively served the community through numerous charitable events and involvement in several organizations such as the Make-A-Wish Foundation, Rockford Rescue Mission, and the Boys and Girls Club. Ever gregarious, Dave enjoyed entertaining with his extended family and countless friends and sharing his passion for boating. His unique sense of humor, larger-than-life persona, and generosity will be greatly missed.Survived by his wife, Rhonda; sons, David J. and Brandon Wafford; brothers, James and Philip Wafford; Uncle Beau and Aunt Jean Wafford; mother-in-law, Melba Payne and countless family members and loving friends. Predeceased by his parents and father-in-law, Charles D. Payne.Funeral service will be held Wednesday, July 20, 2011 at noon, in Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd., with Pastor Greg Carlson officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, July 20, 2011 from 9 a.m. until the time of service, in the funeral home. Burial in Arlington Memorial Park. To
