Donald E. Higgins Donald E. Higgins, 56, of Rockford, died on October 23, 2007 in Rockford Memorial Hospital. Donald was born on February 2, 1951 in Rockford the son of Ernest and Mae (Clankie) Higgins. Donald married Peggy Follis on December 5, 1998 in Rockford. Donald had worked as a laborer in the construction industry. He loved working on cars, motorcycles and trucks and especially loved spending time with his family. Donald is survived by his wife, Peggy; his daughter, Destiny; his grandsons, Donny and Jim; his seven sisters, Sharon (Ed) Yarbrough, Donna Ruch, Vivian (John) Weirmen; Diane (Ken) Arnold; Jane (Mike) Moore; Jean (Rick) Claeyssen and Karen (Don) Schmoll; His four brothers, Ron and Gary Higgins and Howard and Richard Bean; his special friend, Larry (Cindy) Pope, special niece Kelly Ackerson (Mark Proper) and many nieces and nephews. Donald was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Roger Bean and his four sons, Danny, Donny, Jim and Jer. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 27, 2007 at 12 p.m. (Noon) at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Riverside Chapel, 3910 N. Rockton Ave. with Rev. Ron Meyers officiating. Interment will be private. A visitation will be held on Saturday at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until time of service. Family and friends may
