Donald J. Enderle

Donald J. Enderle, 86, of Loves Park, died on February 13, 2010 at Rockford Memorial Hospital after a short illness. Born Feb. 4, 1924 in Elbow Lake, MN, son of Henry and Veronica (Schuster) Enderle. Served in the United States Navy from 1945-1946 on the SIBONEY aircraft carrier during the Pacific War. Married his loving wife Irviljo B. Hunt on November 1, 1952. Worked 30 years for National Lock Co.as a pipe fitter until his retirement in 1982. Don was a member of St. Bridget Catholic Church, the Moose Club, VFW and the UAW. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, and Chicago White Sox baseball. Don was also an avid walker on his treadmill and always had the spare part to fix them after he wore them out. He enjoyed his family and friends very much and will be missed by all.



Survivors include his sons, Patrick Enderle of Machesney Park, Daniel (Jackie) Enderle of Rockton, and Douglas (Carrie) Enderle of Loves Park; daughters, Joyce (Stephen) Keegan of Rockford and Julie (Dave) Cortez of Roscoe; grandchildren, Chris (Renee) Von Neffe, Tori and Mitch Enderle, Marijo and Marie Enderle, Ross and Jason Enderle and Sarah and Joseph Cortez; great grandchildren, Seth, Tessa and Colten Von Neffe; and sister, Evelyn Enderle of MN. Preceded in death by his parents, 2 infant sons, wife, Irviljo; sister, Rosamond Enderle; brothers, Art and Mark Enderle, and his golfing buddies, Walter Olk, Charlie Fowler, amp; Bob Johnson.



Funeral Mass Thursday, Feb. 18, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Bridget Catholic Church, 600 Clifford Ave. Loves Park . Interment in Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Visitation Thursday in church from 9 9:45 a.m. Memorials to the family for a fund to be established at a later date. Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Riverside Chapel is assisting the family.
