Dorothy M. McCaw, 87Loving Mother, Grandmother and AuntDorothy M. McCaw, 87, Rockford, died at 9:10 a.m. Saturday, December 8, 2012 in Park Strathmoor Nursing Home. Born December 23, 1924 in Dixon, daughter of Franklin and Henrietta Bush McCray. Rockford resident since 1993 coming here from Janesville. Married Lewis W. McCaw in Rockford on August 26, 1946. He died in August of 1977. Employed by the F.W. Woolworth Company in Janesville for over 20 years, retiring in 1991. She was a member of their Retirees Club. While in Rockford she was a "Demo Lady" for Sams Club for 10 years, which she enjoyed. She loved animals and also enjoyed pet sitting for people. Member of the First Church of the Nazarene. Dorothy was a hard worker, having to have left school to work to help support her family as well as helping out on the family farm. She was very kind hearted with a solid moral foundation and strong faith. Dorothy was quite wellread with a great interest in politics and a good sense of humor. Her passion was always her family who she loved with all of her heart.Survivors include her sons, James L. (Ruth) McCaw, Rockford, Jerry W. (Sandy) McCaw, El Mirage, AZ and Kurt (Cindy) McCaw, Glendale,AZ; grandchildren, Brad, Dawn and Brett McCaw, Mandy Pleis, Adam McGrady; greatgrandchildren, Brianna and Nicole Kopa, Jaykob Stickels and Gianna McCaw as well as another great grandson and greatgreat grandson expected in the near future, and numerous loving nieces, nephews and cousins. Also predeceased by her parents, a daughter at birth, Diane Elaine; daughterinlaw, Diane McCaw and brothers, Earl and Harold McCray.Funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 14, 2012 in First Church Of The Nazarene, 4503 Charles Street, with Pastor Jake Crowley officiating. Visitation from 9:30 a.m. until time of the service at the church. Private family burial. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Church Of The Nazarene.
