Dr. Michelle M. Mcreynolds

Dr. Michelle M. McReynolds, 68, of Rockford, passed away Sunday, May 12, 2019.

Michelle was born in Evergreen Park, IL on June 6, 1950, daughter of Paul J. and Mary “Mickey” (Gardner) McReynolds. She graduated from Queen of Peace High School, Class of 1968. Michelle attended Northern Illinois University where she received her Masters and Doctorate in Education. She committed her life to education and teaching was her passion. Michelle married Jim Sibigtroth in Chicago Ridge, IL on November 23, 1973. She was a member of the Mauh-Nah-Tee-See Club for many years. Michelle enjoyed book club, spending time at the pool, and playing golf with her girls, Barb, Libby, Jill, Maureen, and Betsy. She will be dearly missed.

Those left to honor Michelle’s memory include her loving husband, Jim Sibigtroth; cherished son, Matthew (Megan) Sibigtroth of Richmond, CA; dear sister, Manette (Dennis) Wenk; nieces, Marissa and Natalie Wenk and Nicolle Sheppard; nephews, Paul-Jimmy, Andrew and Shawn McReynolds; great-nephew, Levon Wenk and loving dog, Hershey. She is predeceased by her parents; brother, Paul M. McReynolds and nephew, Cagney Wenk.

Visitation will be held from 5 – 8 p.m. Friday, May 17, 2019 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd. Rockford, IL 61108. Celebration of the Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 18, 2019 with visitation from 10 am until time of service at Holy Family Catholic Church, 4401 Highcrest Rd. Rockford, IL 61107. Cremation rites will be accorded following the services. A reception including lunch will be held following the service at noon at Mauh-Nah-Tee-See Club, 5151 Guilford Rd, Rockford, IL 61107.
