He graduated from Olney High School, Delaware Valley University, and the University of Minnesota with a Master in Dairy Science. Served in the US Army 1955 - 1956. Married Dorothy M. Ranes in St. Paul, MN on June 30, 1962. He was a 4-H agent for most of his life working for University of Maryland for 1 ½ years and the University of Wisconsin for 26 ½ years in Antigo, WI. He is known for his sense of humor, being a social butterfly, his caring personality, his love of nature and his dogs. Ed was in his element working as a Langlade County 4-H Agent. This job was more like a gift to him. You could see this especially when he was at Camp Susan where he helped to create a wonderful environment where youths could and did feel accepted and welcomed and where they were left with such fond memories for life. Ed was such a positive mentor to all he touched. He will be remembered mostly as being a beloved family member and friend.
