Eleanor Jane Rogers, 104, Rockford, died Monday, December 7, 2020, at Wesley Willows. She was born January 29, 1916, in Hastings, MN, the daughter of Lucius and Amy (Schilling) Lowell. She was educated in St. Paul, MN. Eleanor married Carleton Carson Rogers on November 29, 1934. They celebrated 61 years of marriage at the time of his death in 1996. Eleanor was an author, artist, quilter, gourmet cook, world traveler, and a helpmate to her husband, a United Methodist pastor.
Survived by her children, Carleton (Loretta) Rogers, Jr., Dr. Craig (Debbie) Rogers, and Joye (Frank) Schwartz; 13 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carleton, Sr., her daughter, Deanna Hlavacek, her parents, a brother and a sister.
No services are planned at this time due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Memorials may be given to the First United Methodist Church, 216 E. Highland Av., Elgin, IL 60120. Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory assisted the family. Share online condolences at www.fitzgeraldfh.com.
