Erma Seiler

September 22, 1938 — May 10, 2013

Erna Maria "Omi" Seiler, 74, Rockford, died on Friday, May 10, 2013 in Fair Oaks Rehabilitation and Health Care Center, South Beloit. Born September 22, 1938 in Weyer, Austria, daughter of Anton and Christina Prueller Krenn. She came to the United States in 1959 and married Jack A. Seiler on December 19, 1959 in St. Alfonso's Church in Chicago. Member of the Cathedral of St. Peter where she was a Eucharistic Minister and a member of Catholic Women's League. Worked for the Rockford Board of Education for 22 years and then became a Certified Nursing Assistant in 1992. She worked for Visiting Nurses Association for 11 years, and P.A. Peterson until 2007. She was a volunteer at the soup kitchen and was a member of the German Society of Rockford and the Austrian Club of Milwaukee.

Survivors include her children, Walter Seiler, Loves Park, Sylvia Shamblin, Byron and Tony Seiler, South Beloit; grandchildren, Bradley, Christopher and Brett Shamblin, Laci Seiler and Tony Seiler; great-grandson, Hunter Shamblin; brother, Hubert Krenn, Borlange, Sweden; niece and nephews, Robert, Sylvia and Johann Krenn all of Sweden. Predeceased by her husband on February 19, 1991 and her parents. Erna's family would like to thank the staffs at Fair Oaks Rehabilitation & Health Care Center and Family Centered Hospice for the loving care that was given to her.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 21, 2013 in the Cathedral of St. Peter with Rev. Jeremy Trowbridge officiating. A memorial visitation from 10 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. at the church. Burial in Greenwood Cemetery. The family was assisted by Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Aids Research, 1400 S.
