Felisitas Tejeda

Felisitas Tejeda, 97, of Rockford passed away on May 14, 2009 in her home surrounded by her family. Born November 20, 1911 in San Gaspar, Mexico, the daughter of Ladislao and Irene (Delgado) De La Cruz. Felisitas moved to Rockford in 1957 from Torreon, Mexico. She married Manuel Tejeda on April 4, 1934 in Teocaltiche, Mexico. He predeceased her in September of 1947. Felisitas was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Church. She is survived by her children Manuel (Stella) Tejeda, Mario (Yvonne) Tejeda and Maria (Ernest) Balderrama. Sister-in-law Carmen Cruz, 7 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents, husband, five children, 7 siblings. Funeral mass Wednesday, May 20, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic church with Franciscan Friars officiating. Interment in Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Visitation Tuesday, May 19 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Riverside Chapel with a rosary service to be recited at 8 p.m. Visitation will continue on Wednesday at church from 9-9:45 a.m. In lieu of flowers memorials to American Cancer Society, 4312 E.
