Frances "Darlene" Sanders

“Woman of God, Wife, Mother, and Grandmother”

Frances “Darlene” Sanders, 60, of Rockford, went home to our Lord and Savior, on Sunday, August 9, 2015. She was born in Alton, IL; on March 14, 1955. She married her devoted husband, Rev. Lorenzo C. Sanders in Rockford, on September 4, 1974. She worked for many years at Comcast, and for Septran in Rockford, and was a faithful member of Eagle Christian Fellowship and the House of Fellowship Churches. Darlene was a strong Christian woman, and ministered to those in need of God’s love. She’ll always be remembered as an unconditional woman of God; never judgmental, and always willing to help those looking for the sanctity of Jesus Christ. Those who knew her and the souls she touched here on earth will miss her dearly.
Darlene is survived by her loving family; husband, Rev. Lorenzo C. Sanders; children, Shawntay (Arnie) Lopez, Lanae Sanders, David J. (Rose Noblitt) Sanders; grandchildren, Isaiah Sanders, Alana Austin, Elijah Sanders, Alicia Austin, Brianna Sanders; stepdaughters, Shree Sanders and Marthetta Sanders; brother, Daryle Honeycutt; sister, Deb (Harry) Boyden; and sister-in-law, Betty Burse.
She is predeceased by her mother, and her brother, John Piper.

A funeral service and celebration of her homecoming will be 11AM, Saturday, August 15, 2015, at Washington Park Christian Church, 801 Concord Ave., Rockford, IL, 61102; with Minister Clifton Streeter officiating. Burial to follow at Willwood Burial Park. Visitation will be 5 to 8 PM, Friday, August 14, 2015, at Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, 1860 S. Mulford Rd., Rockford, IL, 61108; and also on Saturday from 9:30 AM until time of service at the Church. Memorial donations may be made in Darlene’s honor to the House of Fellowship Church.
