Gary Lameyer

Gary A. Lameyer, 55, of Rockford died Monday, November 14, 2016 after a courageous battle with cancer at Mayo Clinic. Born September 8, 1961 the son of George and Lela (Hendershott) Lameyer. Gary graduated from Guilford High School and went on to attend Denver Automotive and Diesel College. He currently worked for RPM, Rockford Precision Machine as a painter and formerly worked for E.D. Etnyre & Co. in Oregon for 10 years. He loved yardwork and gardening but always had time for fishing and camping and took in many NASCAR races and Chicago Bears football games. He was also a music lover, singing karaoke with his daughters when he could. He was proud to be a part of NA, the friendships he made there were strong and true; he was currently holding the position of treasurer. Gary was a kind and caring father and grandfather and a friend to many, he will be missed dearly. He, his father George, and his brother Mike are in Heaven together on a lake catching the next big fish and remembering all the good times they had. The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Harvey Einhorn, The Regional Cancer Center and to Mayo Clinic, especially his nurse, Tanner.
Survivors include his daughters, Janel (Joshua)Voyles; Kelsey (Justin)Leng, Lauren (Tyler Helgerson)Lameyer, all of Rockford and Mallory Lameyer of Byron; grandchildren, Stanley Voyles, Atreyu and Korbin Leng, all of Rockford; mother, Lela Lameyer of Rockford; sister, Judy (Steve) Webster of Winnebago; numerous nieces and nephews, his former wife, Lisa (Larry) Leach of Byron and his beloved K9 companion, Gus. He was preceded in death by his father, George in 2006 and his brother, Michael on Oct. 30, 2016.
Funeral service Saturday, November 19, 2016 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, Mulford Chapel 1860 S. Mulford Rd. at 11 a.m. with visitation from 9:30 until time of service. In lieu of flowers memorials to the family. Express online condolences at: www.fitzgeraldfh.com
