Grant F. Stardy, Jr., 57, Machesney Park, died Saturday, July 31, 2010, at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center.nbsp; He was born March 2, 1953, in Elgin, the son of Grant F. and Irmgard (Chapman) Stardy, Sr.nbsp; Grant lived 7 years in Rockford, coming here from McHenry.nbsp; He worked for Security Builders Supply for 6 years.nbsp; Grant is a veteran of the Marine Corps.nbsp; He loved the Cubs and the Bears, but was truly devoted to his children and grandchildren.

Survived by his son, Grant F. (Angela) Stardy, III of Machesney Park; daughter, Kimberly J. Stardy of Rockford and their mother, Connie J. Stardy; grandchildren, Kristin J., Grant F. IV, and Garrett F. Stardy; sisters, Carol Dewis of Marengo, Darlene (Daryl) Blassy of McHenry, and Marsha (Ed) Thomas of McHenry; many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents.
