Harley Neal

October 23, 1927 — January 5, 2013

nbsp;Harley Buntin Neal, 85, of Rockford was called to heaven at 7:40 a.m. at OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center Saturday, January 5, 2013.
On October 23, 1927, Harley was born to his parents, Harley and Vernie Neal , one of 4 children, in Benton, Illinois and attended schools there.
He became a clerk typist in the United States Army and received an honorable discharge.
Harley received Masters degrees from Northern Illinois University and Southern Illinois University and had also studied at Texas Western College in El Paso.
He became a long time teacher at Jefferson High School teaching Math, in areas of Algebra, Trigonometry, Geometry and Calculus.
He married his friend of 48 years, Patricia, nbsp;at Calvary Lutheran Church.
Harley was a comedian who enjoyed telling jokes.
He also enjoyed going to Native American Powwows with his wife.

Harley is survived by his wife, Patricia Neal, devoted assistant, J.D.
and his sister, Minnie Neal.

Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 12, 2013 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home amp; Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Road.
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
Burial in Masonic and Odd Fellows Cemetery in Benton, Illinois at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, January 14, 2013.
