Helen A. Jones

Helen A. Jones, 83, of Rockford, went to be with the Lord on May 26, 2008 at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center. Helen was born September 7, 1924 in Utica, South Dakota the daughter of Joseph and Sophie (Korton) Kronaizl. Helen moved to Rockford from South Dakota in 1942. Helen worked at Barber Coleman, was employed with Rockford Township for 20 years and part-time for Sears for 25 years, worked for Bergners and most recently for Al Grace Appliances. She was a member of St. Patrick Church, a volunteer at Rockford Memorial Hospital and St. Patrick Church, a member of Moose Lodge Ladies Auxiliary and Parents without Partners. Helen loved to work because she loved people. She enjoyed square dancing, polka dancing, bowling, cooking, gardening, reading and most of all the Card Club. Helen is survived by her two daughters, Sharon Warner and Cathy Johnson; her grandchildren, Jeannie (Sam) Rhea, Rusty (Sandra) Barnes, Tanya (Victor) Adkins, Michele (David) McKellips and Hannah Johnson; 10 great-grandchildren; her four brothers, Tom (Bernie) Kronaizl, Stanley (Maureen) Kronaizl, Jim (Barb) Kronaizl and Henry (Jewell) Kronaizl; her sister, Lillian (Rudy) Abild; her brother-in-law, Al Graceffa, special friend Phillip Floyt, and many nieces and nephews. Helen was predeceased by her parents, her brothers, Adolph, Joe and Steven; her sister, Marie Graceffa and her two sons, Johnny Jones and Robert Jones, Jr. A special thank you to Dr. Freeman and the OSF St. Anthony Medical Center ICU staff. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, May 30, 2008 at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick Church, 2505 School St. with Rev. Brian A. Geary followed by entombment in Calvary Mausoleum. Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 29, 2008 from 6 8 p.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Riverside Chapel, 3910 N.
