Helen Odorski

Helen Odorski passed away on July 6th, 2012 at Provena St. Annes Center in Rockford, Illinois. nbsp;She was 95.nbsp; Helen was born March 28th, 1917 to Stephen and Josephine Odorski.nbsp;nbsp; Helen graduated from Rockford West High School in 1935. nbsp;She was a longtime member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Rockford. nbsp;Helen was involved in athletics from her time as a child in the Rockford Park District, the first intramurals for women in her high school days, baseball and softball during World War II and as an avid bowler throughout her adult life. nbsp;Helen was employed by National Lock for 41 years, her accounting skills remaining sharp through all her years.


She is survived by her sisters; Clara Close and Mary Kortendick, both of Rockford, her nephews and niece; Fr. Steve Kortendick of Columbus, WI, Thomas Kortendick (Marilyn) of Barrington Hills, IL, Michael Kortendick (Joanne) of Evergreen, CO and Kathy Thorsteinson (Jeff) of Cedar Rapids, IA; and by grandnephews; Patrick, Nicholas and Christopher Kortendick and Gregory, Daniel and Matthew Thorsteinson.nbsp; Helen was preceded in death by her parents, her brother John, sister Rose and nephew John William Odorski. nbsp;
