Henrietta A. Hoefer

Henrietta (Etta) Hoefer, 74, of Rockford, passed away after a short illness August 19, 2011 at Rockford Memorial Hospital.Born December 27, 1936 in Kings, IL; the daughter of the late Henry and Laura (Gieger) Hendricks.Etta graduated from Bishop Muldoon High School in 1955 and then graduated from Swedish American School of Radiology in 1957. She worked at Sears Robucks Company for 23 years retiring in 1991; at South Central Pools for 8 years and Holy Family School of Extended care for 5 years.Etta served in many offices at the American Business Womens Association for 35 years.She was a member of the Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxillary for 13 years. Etta enjoyed going to the casinos with her friends Bob and Mary Wentz, and spending time with her grandchildren. Henrietta married George V. Hoefer February 15, 1958 he preceded her in death January 10, 1996.Survivors include her children: Mark (Veousha) Hoefer, Steven (Shelly) Hoefer, Thomas Hoefer, Gloria Smith, Laura (Esteban) Luvioano; grandchildren: Lynn, Samantha, Mathew, Michael V., Michael J., Tasha, Whitney, Marissa, Brittany, Joshua, Brooke, Chris and Mathew Landis.Great-grandchildren: MacKenzie, Courtney, Hailey, Zack, Victoria, Miranda, Airyana, Myanah, Bradley, sister, Gloria (Ed) Metzler, twin brother, Henry (Ruth) Hendricks, sister-in-law Sylvia Hendricks.She was predeceased by her parents, sisters, Trudie and Ella and brother, Joseph. Special thanks to the doctors and staff at Rockford Memorial Hospital especially Dr. Catherine Anderson and Dr. Abdulla Altayeh for the care they have given our mother. A Memorial Mass will be 11:00 am Thursday, August 25, 2011 at the Cathedral of St. Peter, 1243 N. Church Street, Rockford, IL.Visitation will be 9-11:00 am Thursday at the church.
