Henry J. Gallenz

Henry J. Gallenz, 78, Rockford, passed away Monday, November 16, 2015 surrounded by his family. He was born on June 27, 1937 to Johann and Maria-Magdalena (Frank) Gallenz in Germany. On August 12, 1961 in Winnipeg, Canada he married Claire Zgraggen. Henry was a dedicated member of St. Bernadette Catholic Church. He was an avid runner and cross country skier. He was a founding member of the Rockford Road Runners club and table tennis club. He enjoyed the several years he spent as a track and cross country coach at Boylan High School. Henry spent much of his time volunteering and various organizations and clubs around the Rockford community.
He is survived by his wife, Claire; his children Peter (Angela) Gallenz, Cynthia (Tuck) Miller, and Stephanie (Marc) Rossetti; his grandchildren Kajetan Gallenz, Anika Miller, and Gianna and Adalyn Rossetti; his brothers Hanspeter and Karlheinz Gallenz; his sister Rosemarie Gallenz; and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents and sister Elizabeth Gallenz.

A Memorial mass will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, November 23, 2015 at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 2400 Bell Ave, Rockford. Visitation will begin at 9:30 A.M. until time of service.
