Jacob T. Jake Janusevic, 21, of Rockford, died unexpectedly on December 16, 2009. Jake was born on February 20, 1988 in Rockford the son of Bruce and Kathy (Niedermann) Janusevic.
Jake graduated from Guilford High School in 2006 and attended Rock Valley College for a year. He worked at Culvers Restaurant from 2004 2006 and at PAPA JOHNS Pizza from 2006 until present. Jake had a great passion for music and was in the school band from middle school through high school, in the Jazz Band at Lincoln Middle School and Guilford High School, played the piano, clarinet, bass clarinet, guitar, and saxophone, and had played in several garage bands. Jake was a member of the football team at East High School during his freshmen year and at Guilford High School from sophomore year through senior year. He was a former member of Boy Scout Troop 400/14 and enjoyed fishing and the outdoors.
Jake is survived by his parents, Bruce and Kathy; brother, Jeff; sister, Emily; grandparents, Tom and Judy Janusevic, and Karl and Rosemarie Niedermann; great-grandmother, Helen Beers; aunts and uncles, Mary (Jay) Sine, Karl (Casey) Niedermann, Mary Rose (Dave) Damisch, Laura Niedermann (Dave Snow), Jim Niedermann, Paul Niedermann, and Amy (Kevin) Behling; cousins, Zack Haugdahl, Karl (Liz), Adrienne, Dan, Kendra, and Aaron Niedermann, Luke, Ben and Hannah Damisch, and Evy and Liam Behling, and second cousin Cassandra Niedermann.
A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, December 19, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Rita Catholic Church, 6254 Valley Knoll Drive, Rockford, with Rev. Matthew Camaioni officiating, followed by burial in Scandinavian Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 18 from 5 8 P.M. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home amp; Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd. and on Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until time of mass. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family. Family and friends may extend online condolences at www.fitzfh.com.
