Janet A. Gresenz

October 14, 1935 — January 23, 2021

Janet A. Gresenz, 85, of Rockford and Winnebago (1974-2016), passed away, with the presence of loving family, in spirit and virtually, on Saturday, January 23, 2021, from complications resulting from Covid -19. She was born October 14, 1935, in Green Bay, WI, the daughter of Walter P. Kennedy and Sylvia M. Hannan. She was raised in Wisconsin and married her husband of 60 years, Gregory C. Gresenz, on February 15, 1958, in Madison, WI. She graduated from St Mary's School of Nursing, Madison, WI in 1954. She was a certified oncology nurse (OCN), dedicated to her calling with over a 50 year career as a registered nurse. Her passion for caring for others was evident in all aspects of her life, always putting others before herself, truly a selfless soul. She enjoyed traveling and meeting new people. She enjoyed the simple pleasures in life, time spent with family, especially at her cottage on Lake Wisconsin. She enjoyed the outdoors, gardening and walking, especially on nature trails with her husband at Severson Dells and in the Merrimac, WI area. She was a life time member of the Catholic Church and a member of St Patrick Church where she enjoyed volunteering many years at the Annual St Patrick's Day corn beef and cabbage dinner. She is survived by her children, Greg (Pam) Gresenz II, Kathy Rilott, Patti Gyorkos, Tim Gresenz, Mary Gresenz, Susie (Dennis Schlichter) Gresenz; grandchildren, Kristin Gresenz, Kyle Gresenz, Bryan Rilott II, Adam (Kaylynn) Rilott, Taylor (Kirsten) Gyorkos, Alyssa Gyorkos; great grandchildren, Adeline Rilott, James Rilott, Emma Gyorkos, Brielle Gyorkos; brother, Pat Kennedy; sisters, Jeannie (Mike) Nazario, Eileen (Jack) Weaver and sister- in- law, Eileen Kennedy. She is predeceased by her husband, Greg Gresenz; son, Jeff Gresenz; parents, Walter and Sylvia Kennedy; brother, Ken Kennedy and sons- in- law, Bryan Rilott I and Chris Gyorkos.

It's with gratitude, family expresses the privilege of being by her side every step of the way, the final years of her journey. Rest in peace, our dear, sweet mother.
