Jean R. Flink

Jean R. Flink, 82, a lifelong resident of Rockford passed away after a long illness on Thursday, April 28, 2011 in St. Anne Center. Born July 16, 1928 in Rockford, IL the daughter of Gustaf A. and Hannah (Nystrom) Flink. She graduated from East High School in 1946 and was employed as a secretary at Amerock Corporation for 44 years, retiring in 1990. Jean is survived by her brother, Roy G. (Lillian) Flink of Rockford; niece, Susan (Al) Cowan of Roscoe; grand niece and nephews, Sarah (Doug) Helland of Ann Arbor, MI, John (Marty) Cowan of Fulton, MD and Andrew Montalbano of Velva, ND; great grand nieces and nephews, Alexandria and Samuel Montalbano, Grace Helland, Clayton and Graham Cowan and special friends Betty and Jan Asprooth. Predeceased by her parents; sister, Helen Flink and niece, Judith Montalbano. Memorial service will be Wednesday, May 4, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd, Rockford, IL 61108 with Pastor Bill Dahlberg of Salem Lutheran Church presiding. Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. until time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Rockford Rescue Mission or Northern Illinois Hospice.
