John Robert Glees, 72
John Robert Glees passed away May 27th, 2015. He was born November 20, 1942 to John E. and Dorothy F. (Thoms) Glees of Chicago, IL. John has many fond memories of walking home with friends from Wrigley Field, of family vacations in Crystal Falls in the Michigan U.P., and of family outings to bowling alleys and to Arlington Race Track. He graduated from Western IL. University and in 1967 he married Marie McPeek of Stockton, IL. John worked 30 years as an accountant at Sundstrand, and later 15 winters preparing taxes for H&R Block and 12 summers as a cashier at Sandy Hollow Golf Course. John enjoyed golfing with the Ironheads group and other friends and watching Chicago sports teams, PGA golf, and horse racing on TV. Being with his family, however, brought him the most joy.
Survived by his wife, Marie; daughters Melanie (Robert) Rogers of Bryan, TX and Anne (Marc) Bliven of Parker, CO.; Grandchildren Ariana and Emery Bliven and Flynn Rogers; and sister Susan (William) Twa of Marquette, MI.
Predeceased by his parents.

Services will be 12 noon Monday, June 1, 2015 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Mulford Chapel. Visitation will be from 3-5 pm Sunday, May 31, also from 11 am until time of service Monday at the funeral home. Memorials to the family for a memorial to be established at a later date.
