Joseph Douglas Holaway, 52, of Rockford went home to be with Jesus on Saturday, July 16, 2011 at his home, after a courageous battle with cancer.nbsp; Born July 30, 1958 in Rockford, son of Joseph E. and Rose Holaway.nbsp; Doug attended Nashold, Morris, Kennedy, Jefferson and Graduated from Rockford Lutheran High School.nbsp; He married his high school sweetheart Debbie L. Ellis in 1985.nbsp; He was employed at Greenlee Bros. Co. for 11 years, UNI-SIG for 5 years and plant manager at RAK Rehnberg until 2001. He retired from Circle Boring and Machine after 6 years of employment.nbsp; Doug was an avid WWII, Viet-Nam Military Re-Enactor and collector.nbsp; He was an honorary member of Viet-Now, a member of the World War Two Historical Reenactment Society and a member of the EAA Warbirds of America.nbsp; Survivors include his wife Debbie, father-in-law, Dan Ellis, two brother-in-laws Doug, Wayne Ellis and numerous nieces and nephews.nbsp; He was predeceased by his son, Spencer; father, Joseph E. and brother, Ronald.
Memorial Services will be held at 12:00 pm Saturday, July 23, 2011 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home amp; Crematory,nbsp;Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Road, Rockford, IL 61108 with a visitation from 11:00am until time of service at the funeral home.nbsp;nbsp; Online tributes at www.fitzgeraldfh.com.
