Joseph Scordato

Joseph Scordato, 74, of Rockford passed away Tuesday October 13, 2015. Joseph was born July 16, 1941 in Rockford, the son of Joseph and Vita Terrazino. He graduated West High School, Class of ‘60. He married Mary Sue Sullivan on September 17, 1966 at St. Rita Church. He worked at Atwood Mobile Products for over 30 years, retiring in 1999. Member of Holy Family Church and Knights of Columbus Council 13123. He served on the boards of both Atwood Credit Union and H.O. Perlee Credit Union.
Joe enjoyed time outdoors, hunting with his sons, and taking care of his home. Most of all, he loved his family and relished the moments when all eight of his children were together. Even as vascular dementia took a toll on his body, he remained a family man until he was finally released from his disease at death.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Sue. Children; Joseph (Maureen) of Beloit, Nancy (Scott) Chachula, Peter (Angie), Ted (Loi), John (Suzanne) of Davenport, IA, Mary Jo (Scott) LeGrand, Kathryn (Jimmy) Sartino and Timothy. Grandchildren; Emily, MaryKathleen, Joseph, Christopher, Christiana, Nicholas, Cecilia, Elizabeth, Ryan, Lauren, Luke, Joseph, Adam, Noah, Peter Joseph, Roman, Ava, Benjamin, Saylom, Logan, John, Daniel, Delaney, Maria, Charles, Catherine, Natale, Francesco, Gianni, Giuseppi , and Fioretta. Three great grandchildren. Brother; John (Dottie) of AZ. Sister; Virginia Kline of CA. Predeceased by his parents, brothers; Frank and Anthony.
Funeral Mass at 11am, Saturday October 17, 2015 in Holy Family Catholic Church. Burial in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation from 4pm until 7pm Friday October 16 in Fitzgerald Funeral Home 1860 S. Mulford Road with rosary at 7pm. Visitation also from 10am until 10:45 Saturday in the church. In lieu of flowers memorials to Knights of Columbus council 13123 Holy Family Church.
