JOYCE LUCILLE HARRIS, 81 DIXON - Joyce Lucille Harris, 81, of Dixon, formerly of Rockford, died Friday, Feb. 4, 2011, in KSB Hospital. Born Nov. 9, 1929, in Rockford, the daughter of John and Corrine (Cusson) Brown. Married her loving husband David R. Harris on June 19, 1948, at St. Peter Catholic Church. Joyce was a kind, caring person who loved to spend much of her time with her family; they were always important to her. Survivors include daughter, Becky (Gary Dyer) Baxter of Dixon; grandchildren, Mike (Bonnie) Baxter of Oregon and Lisa Baxter of Mount Morris; great-grandchildren, Ricky and Joey Rowe, and Ashley and Brad Nordman; brothers, Bill Brown of Rockford and Jerry (Lynn) Brown of Tennessee; sister-in-law, Charlene Brown of Rockford; brother-in-law, Ron Harris of Rockford; numerous nieces and nephews; and her faithful K9 companions, Paco and Gracie Mae. Predeceased by her husband April 1, 2005; sons, Ricky and Michael; brothers, Dick Brown and Donald Bacha; sister, Helen Corby; sisters-in-law; Marilee Brown and Elizabeth Harris; and brother-in-law, Donald Harris. Memorial service at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 16, in Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Road, Rockford. Private internment at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family.
