June E. Dilling

June E. Dilling, 73 of Rockford, passed away Saturday, January 3, 2015 after a sudden illness. Born June 4, 1941, to George A. Dilling and Alma L. (Seyller) Dilling in Rockford, Illinois. June graduated from Muldoon High School in 1959. She attended Marquette University, graduating with a nursing degree in 1963. June was employed as a registered nurse at the Zuni Indian Reservation Medical Center in New Mexico from 1963-1965. She returned to Rockford and was employed at the Visiting Nurses Association, Rockford Memorial Hospital, and St. Anthony’s OSF. After retirement, she dedicated her life to part time charity work at the Winnebago County Animal Services and River Bluff Nursing Home. June was well known throughout the Rockford medical profession as a kind-hearted and dedicated career nurse, one who touched many lives in a most positive, caring way. She was a member of the Cathedral of St. Peter in Rockford. June is survived by brother George R. Dilling (Barbara); nephew, Dr. Thomas J. Dilling of Tampa, Florida; and several cousins. June is predeceased by her parents. Funeral mass will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 10, 2015, at the Cathedral of St. Peter, Rockford, IL. Visitation prior to Mass, from 9:00 a.m. until time of prayer at 9:45 a.m. Burial will be private, and held on a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in June’s honor to Winnebago County Animal Services, 4517 North Main Street, Rockford, IL, 61103; or River Bluff Nursing Home Auxiliary, 4401 North Main Street, Rockford, IL 61103.
