Durand—June Roddy McCartney, 61 of Durand, IL passed away unexpectedly Thursday, May 2, 2013 at 3:30 a.m. in Fort Meyers, FL. June was born in Johnstone, Scotland June 19, 1951, the daughter of James and Elizabeth Roddy. June graduated from Boylan High School in 1969. June retired in 2011 as an RN from Rockford Memorial Hospital after 38 years of service. June is survived by her husband James "Woody" McCartney, daughters Joy (Tony) Parlapiano, Jamie (Dan) Williamson and Amy (Bob) Schimmel, sons Mark (Nikki) McCartney and Andy McCartney. Grandchildren; Allison and Emily Parlapiano, Abby and Ryan Schimmell, Aidan, Jacob and Gracie McCartney; mother, Elizabeth Roddy, Sister Rhonda (Craig) Hurless; father-in-law Al McCartney; brother and sister in law David and Maxine McCartney, sister-in-law Nancy McCartney and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Preceded in her death by her father James Roddy, brother James Roddy and mother-in-law Harriette McCartney. Private family service and entombment at Calvary Catholic Cemetery Mausoleum.
