Kurt C. Boucek

Kurt C. Boucek, 55, Rockford, died on Wednesday, July 4, 2012 at the University of Wisconsin Medical Center in Madison.
Born March 28, 1957 in Elgin, son of John J. and Margaret R. (Barwinkel) Boucek. Kurt grew up in Cary, IL and graduated from Cary Grove H.S. in 1975.
He graduated from Northern Illinois University in 1979 with a BA in Communications.
Returned to NIU and received an MA in Music and a Music Teaching Certificate in 2006. Rockford resident for the past 30 years.
Married Eileen Frisk on May 19, 1984.
He was a member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church. Kurt was a passionate musician and music educator. He has played with many bands and music groups through the years; some of which are Moonlight nbsp;Jazz Orchestra, 25 or 6 to 4, Jack Farina Big Band, Clutch Cargo, Rock Valley College Band and Starlight Theater.
He taught private trumpet lessons and loved teaching music to all ages, presently teaching at McIntosh Elementary School, Rock Valley College and Rockford College.
He also enjoyed instructing
teachers to teach music. He loved his family, always enjoyed fishing and his dog held a special place in his heart.
Survivors include his wife, Eileen; sons, Brian (Katie) Boucek and Andrew Boucek; father, John J. Boucek; siblings, Karen (Ward) Senn, John Boucek III, Barbara (Cliff) Edwards and several nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his mother, grandparents and his best friend, Kevin Petersen.

A memorial service will be held to celebrate his life at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 9, 2012 in Gloria Dei Lutheran Church with Rev. Kenneth Storck officiating.
Visitation from 47 p.m. on Sunday in Fitzgerald Funeral Home amp; Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd. and from 10 a.m. until time of the service at the church on Monday.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family for a music scholarship fund that will be established in Kurts name.
