Larry A. Stein

Larry A. Stein, 70, Rockford, passed away Friday, November 28, 2014, in his home. He was born March 18, 1944, in Spring Valley, WI, the son of Einer Conrad and Mary Stein. He was a veteran serving in the Army. Larry married Lois Ellen Crawford in Rockford on July 17, 1971. She passed away January 28, 2008. He worked in electrical maintenance at Chrysler Corporation in Belvidere for 38 years and a member of UAW Local #1268.
Survived by his son, Donald (Kelly) Stein of Rockford; his daughter, Laura Stein of Loves Park; his grandchildren, Michael, Chloe, and K.C.; his brothers, Roger (Mary Rose) Stein of Maine, Gene (Nancy) Stein of Minnesota, and Jimmy (Kim) Stein of Minnesota; his sisters, Gail Stein and Dorothy Stein, both of California; many wonderful nieces and nephews. Larry was a “Dad” to many. He loved helping people whenever possible. Larry always had an opinion to share. He rarely knew a stranger, and was always willing to talk to anyone. Predeceased by his parents and his sister, Patricia “Patty” Slezak.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Friday, December 5, 2014, at Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mullford Rd. Rockford, 61108, with Pastor Wendell Maynard officiating. Burial in Arlington Memorial Park Cemetery.
