Laura S. Crawford

Laura S. Crawford, 51, of Rockford, passed away on Monday, April 7, 2014 at Deerpath Assisted Living in Huntley. Born March 30, 1963 in Rockford, IL; daughter of Robert Wilson and Sharon Pulver. Married Todd Crawford on March 6, 1999 in Machesney Park. She was the assistant manager at Walgreens and also worked at Lane Bryant clothing store for several years. Laura loved dogs especially Border Collies, she was a Border Collie Rescue foster parent. She was a member of the Forest City Dog Training Club and was active with the SwedishAmerican Visiting K-9's, also volunteered at the Cherry Valley Library in the read to dogs children's program. Laura was an avid bingo player and loved to play at the Belvidere VFW.
Survivors include her husband, Todd Crawford; mother, Sharon (Mike) Humpal; father, Robert (Carol) Wilson; half-brother, Michael Humpal; step-sisters, Laura (Thomas) Peterson and Stacey (Dan) Mule; mother-in-law, Catherine Crawford; numerous nieces and nephews; 4 legged kids, Socrates, Athens, Electra, Pandora, Aristotle and Baby Bear. Predeceased by her paternal grandparents, Paul and Nellie Mae.
Memorial service will be held at 5:00pm Friday, April 11, 2014 at Grace United Methodist Church, 3555 McFarland Rd., Rockford with Reverend Pam Rossmiller officiating. Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. until time of service Friday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Midwest Border Collie Rescue.
