Lyle J. Novak

Lyle J. Novak, 71, Buffalo Grove, formerly of Rockford, passed away on Sunday, August 28, 2011 surrounded by his loving family. Born January 4, 1940; the son of John and Eileen (Vondra) Novak. Lyle graduated from St. Thomas Catholic High School class of 1958. He was a US Veteran serving in the United States Air Force. Upon his honorable discharge he began his career working for Sears, traveling the world setting up new stores. Lyle was later employed by Allstate as an insurance agent and was most recently employed at UPS.Lyle had a wonderful sense of humor and will be missed by his family and all whose lives he touched. He was an avid collector of Chrysler automobiles and was a member of the Walter P Chrysler Club. Additional memberships include the Moose Lodge and Lombardi Club. He is survived by;brother, Keith (Cathy) Novak; his children, Kimberly (Scott) Pearson, Ryan Novak, Natasha (Tonelli sister Alice Knaub, Leaf River; her children, Gary, Tim, Brenda and Scott; nephews, Tom, John, Gene Jr. Josephitis; great niece, Marchella Novak; great nephews, Dominick and Matthew Pearson; special friend, Barb Nelson and Puppy Jak Novak. Predeceased by parents; sister, Janice Josephitis. The family would like to thank caregiver, Dan Cauley and the staff at Wealshire Nursing Home in Lincolnshire, IL. for their compassionate care.Funeral mass will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 2, 2011 at St. Rita Catholic Church 6284 Valley Knoll Dr. Rockford, IL. Visitation from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 1, 2011 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd.and will continue on Friday at 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at church. Interment in Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
