Marguerite Zissler, 89
Rockford- Marguerite Zissler, 89, passed away Saturday, September 5, 2015 at Swedish American Hospital. Born February 21, 1926 in Leatha, KY, the daughter of Ewell I. & Mamie B. (Coffey) Smith. Graduated from Fordsville High School, class of 1944. She married the love of her life Robert P. Zissler on November 5, 1945 in Henderson, KY. They moved to Rockford later that year. She attended Frist Evangelical Free Church, and was a former member of Forest City Baptist Church. Marguerite enjoyed sewing, crocheting, gardening, camping, long walks with Bob, spending winters as a “snowbird” in Panama City Beach, but most of all she loved spending time with Family and Friends.
Survivors include children, Donna (Edward) Jenkins and Daniel (Ruth) Zissler; granddaughter Ashley Zissler, and sister Jean Dalton. She is predeceased by parents, husband, and sister Delia Dunn.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff of Swedish American Hospital, East Bank Center, and Heartland Hospice for all their loving care and support.
A Celebration of Life will be 6 pm Friday, September, 11, 2015 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory. The family will receive guest from 4 to 6 pm at the funeral Home.
