Marie A. Hodapp

Marie Antoinette Hodapp, 83, of Rockford, went to be with the Lord unexpectedly on Sunday, July 17, 2011 in her home.nbsp; Born August 31, 1927 in Boscobel, WI the daughter of Andrew and Helen Streck.nbsp; Married James M. Hodapp in Mankato, MN on August 26, 1950.nbsp; Graduate of St. Marys School of Nursing in Milwaukee and worked as a Registered Nurse at St. Anthonys Hospital as well as for the Board of Education in the LPN nursing program retiring in 1983. Faithful member of St. Bridget Catholic Church and was active in several parish groups such as, Eucharistic Ministry, Communion Ministry, Catholic Womens League, Cursillo and Catholic Charismatic Renewal. She was also very proud of her involvement in the Right to Life movement and was president of the Rockford Right to Life in 1970. nbsp;Marie was also a dedicated volunteer for Northern Illinois Hospice and Grief Center since 1984. She was a wonderful, kind and caring woman who will be missed dearly by all.

Survivors include her loving husband of 60 years, James Hodapp of Rockford; nbsp;sons, Michael (Maryellen) of Carmel, IN, Patrick (Carol) of Byron and Jonathan (Mary Sue) of Elko, MN; grandchildren, Tara (Tim) Tangnbsp;of Indianapolis, IN, James (Stacey Reith) nbsp;of Indianapolis, IN, Brian (Maria) of Chicago, David (Nina) of Virginia Beach, VA, Paul (Lindsay) of Arnold, MD, Anna, Elizabeth, Peter, Martha and Trevor John Hodapp; great-grandchildren, Mali Ann and Joshua Tang, Jordan David and Cameron David Hodapp; sister, Betty Skattebo of Milwaukee and numerous nieces and nephews.nbsp; Predeceased by her parents, brothers, Ted and Joe Streck, step-mother, Harriet Streck and sister-in-law, Florence Streck.

Funeral Mass Wednesday, July 20, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. nbsp;at St. Bridget Catholic Church.nbsp; Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 19 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Mulford Chapel 1860 S. Mulford Rd. from 4 - 7 p.m. with a rosary service to be recited at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue on Wed. at church from 9 a.m. until time of prayer at 9:45 a.m.nbsp; Burial will follow the luncheon in Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
