Marilyn K. Liston

Marilyn K. Liston, 87, Rockford, died peacefully in her home on Wednesday, May 16, 2012. Born September 20, 1924 in Freeport, daughter of George W. and Arvilla (Sluiter) Wessels. Graduated from West High School in 1942 and married Wayne Liston in Rockford on May 14, 1949. Marilyn was employed as a bookkeeper for several Rockford area companies. She was a long time member of Messiah Lutheran Church, then becoming a member of United Lutheran Church as a merger occurred.Survivors include her daughter, Jane (William) McCormick, Nashville, TN; 3 sisters, 2 brothers, several nieces and nephews and brotherinlaw, Earl Liston, Tucson, AZ. Predeceased by her husband on July 26, 1995, parents and a brother.Funeral services will be held at noon on Tuesday, May 22, 2012 in Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Riverside Chapel, 3910 N. Rockton Ave. with Rev. Krista Zimmerman officiating. Burial in Willwood Burial Park. Visitation from 11:00 a.m. until time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Heartland Hospice.
