Mary A. Wignall

ROCKFORD-Mary A. Wignall, 89, Rockford, passed away Wednesday, August 25, 2010, at Wesley Willows Health and Rehab Center. She was born February 21, 1921, in Mineral Point, WI, the daughter of John E. and Agnes M. Schmit. Mary married John J. Wignall in Rockford on November 11, 1943. He passed away in Rockford on March 12, 1992. She worked at the Bergers Distribution Center and prior to that at the Sears store. She is a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church. Mary was active in a card club for many yearsSurvived by her daughter, Karen (Michael) Meeker of Rockford, her son Tim (Anne) Wignall of Beaverton, Oregon; 3 grandchildren, Brian Taylor, Lauren and Adam Wignall; great grandchildren, John and Liam Taylor; sister, Lenora Manning; brother-in-law, Leighton Wignall; sisters-in-law, Donelda Olsasky and Lola Schmit; numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her husband, John, parents, 2 brothers, Frank and Jim Schmit.Funeral Mass will be 10:30am, Wednesday, September 1, 2010, in St. Patrick Catholic Church, 2505 School St, Rockford, IL 61101 with Fr. Ricardo Hernandez officiating. Burial in Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Visitation from 6pm until 8pm, Tuesday, August 31, 2010, at Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, Riverside Chapel, 3910 N. Rockton Ave Rockford, IL 61103. There will be no visitation on Wednesday at the church. A Rosary will be recited at 7:45 pm on Tuesday at the funeral home.
