Mary Alice Walsh

Mary Alice Walsh 81 of Rockford passed away January 1, 2010 in Swedish American Hospital. She was born March 2, 1928 in Rockford, daughter of John Schley and Ethel Phelps. She was a member of Holy Family Church. Mary had lived in Spain for various periods of time during her adult life and had taught herself the Spanish language and was passionate about the people and the culture of Spain Survivors include her children Sheila (Giorgio) Manzana of Boston, MA, Dennis (Eileen) Walsh of Chicago, Thomas (Sonya) Walsh of Portland, OR, John Walsh of Roscoe, Monica (Santiago) Sanchez of Chicago and Daniel Walsh of Rockford. Eight Grandchildren and Five Great Grandchildren. Husband John "Jack" Walsh. Predeceased by her parents and Two Brothers Joseph and George "Bud" Phelps. Memorial Mass of Resurrection at 1pm Tuesday January 5, 2010 in Holy Family Parish Chapel with Monsignor Thomas Bales officiating.
