On Tuesday, January 13, Mona lost her courageous battle with cancer. She now joins her husband, father, mother, sister, and other family members who were waiting for her at the gates of heaven. Born October 12, 1947 in Rockford; to Lloyd K. and Mary T. Hansen. She graduated from Boylan Catholic High School in June 1965. On December 29, 1965 Mona Hansen married Curley C. Marino, he preceded her in death on March 29, 2013. To this marriage Mona was blessed with 2 children, Theresa K. Marino and Lloyd K. (Stephanie) Marino. These 2 blessed Mona with 4 grandchildren, Robert (Tiffany), Charles (fiancé, Crystal), Bythany and Joshua. Mona is also survived by her faithful fur daughter, April. Mona is also survived by sister, Rosi (Jim) Cutsinger, four nieces, Lynette, Katrina, Kimberly and Karla; nephew, Chad and many more loved ones. Mona loved gardening, which she had a green thumb, garage sales, flea markets, and scratch off tickets. She was a newspaper carrier for 30 plus years, printing at Flow EZ, catering at Kwik Buy, and a lunch aide at Rockford Schools. Mona was a loving, caring, compassionate mother, grandmother and friend. She will be missed by all who knew her. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, January 24, 2015 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, 3910 N. Rockton Avenue with Pastor Ron Hease of North Love Baptist Church officiating. Interment in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held from 10:00am until time of service at the funeral home.
