Peter J. Gogola

PETER J. GOGOLA, 46 ROCKFORD - Peter J. Gogola, 46, of Rockford died Monday, Nov. 29, 2010, in his home. Born Sept. 30, 1964, in Naperville, son of Richard and Gloria Wasielewski Gogola. Rockford resident since 1990. He was a highly intelligent man who graduated from Northern Illinois University School of Law and was an attorney. He was deeply involved with the Janet Wattles Center and was a very accomplished guitarist. He volunteered his time and talent to several organizations including "Stars of Light" and the Jubilee Center and he also provided music for the Ken-Rock Bible Study group. Survivors include parents, Richard and Gloria Gogola; sisters, Anna Marie Ronning and Christine (Denny) Schumacher; brother, Matthew A. Gogola, several nieces and nephews; and special close friends, William and Joyce Zartman, Carol and Jerry Rice, Ken Heral and Paul Javurek. Predeceased by his grandparents. Memorial service at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 4, in First Presbyterian Church, 406 N. Main St., with the Rev. David Jones officiating, with visitation from 10 a.m. to time of service.
