Ralph E. Jones, 59, of Rockford, died on April 16, 2009 in his home surrounded by his family. Ralph was born December 4, 1949 in Richland Center, Wisconsin the son of Gerald and Belva (McDermont) Jones. Ralph graduated from Broadhead High School in Wisconsin and was a US Army Veteran of Vietnam. Ralph worked as Head Operator for National Lock and for Camcar and was a truck driver with J. B. Hunt Trucking Company. He was a member of First Church of the Nazarene, enjoyed dining, fishing and was an avid Chicago Bears, Chicago Cubs, Chicago Bulls and Illini fan and an all around sports fan. Ralph cherished spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Ralph is survived by his mother, Belva Jones; children, Cathy Taylor (Fiance Bob Aurand), Linda (Patrick) Shine, Russell Jones and Jeana Jones (Shawn Winter grandchildren, Kayla, Kelsey and Hailey Stephens, Riley and Lucas Shine and Briannah and Kaiden Jones; three nieces, one nephew and his faithful companion Rocky. Ralph was predeceased by his father, Gerald (2003), his sister, Marie Loofboro (2005) and his grandson Zachary(2007). Funeral services for Ralph will be held on Monday, April 20, 2009 at 12 P.M. (Noon) at Fitzgerald Funeral Home amp; Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd., with Rev. Don Turner officiating followed by burial in Arlington Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 19 from 2 - 4 P.M. and on Monday, April 20 from 11 A.M. until time of service.
