Richard C. Cordonnier

Richard C. Cordonnier, 81 of Rockford, died November 6, 2018 at P.A. Peterson. Born September 9, 1937 in Cherry Valley, IL to Rene and Pauline (Hartmann) Cordonnier. Lived all of his life in the Rockford area. Attended St. Thomas High School in Rockford and Loras College in Dubuque, IA. Married Antoinette (Toni) Trudeaux in Rockford on April 20, 1963. Married Kathryn Hagen Pearce in Rockford on May 25, 1996. Employed in the Credit, Fleet and Administrative fields with various Rockford area firms for over 27 years prior to retiring from Textron. Veteran of U.S. Navy, serving with Commander Carrier Division 14 aboard the USS WASP, CVS-18.
He was a faithful member of St. Rita Catholic Church. Survivors include wife Kathy, sons Michael (Shelly) of Winnebago, Richard (Tracey) of Rockford, Andrew (Gretchen) of PA and daughter Jennifer (Kevin) Onley of Rockford. Grandchildren Matt (Stephanie), Sarah (Ryley) Lott, Jessica (Phil) Sperling, Nicholas, Joel, Madison, Samson and William, and great grandchildren Samantha, Gabriel, Paisley, Hunter, Elsie, Alaina, and Brixon. Predeceased by parents, son Christopher, granddaughter Mary, and his first wife and mother of his children, Toni. A special thank you to Northern Illinois Hospice and nurse Kristen.
Funeral Mass will be 12 p.m. Saturday, November 10, 2018 at St. Rita Catholic Church, Visitation from 11a.m. until Mass. Private burial in Arlington Memorial Cemetery. Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, Mulford Chapel is assisting the family.
